Firefox themes & extensions

Two extensions and five classic desktop themes, all available on Firefox Add-ons.

Page Load Progress and 2FA Local add small, useful tools to Firefox on desktop and Android. The themes bring back Ubuntu, Kubuntu, GNOME 2, Windows XP, and Windows Vista, each with light and automatic dark colors.

Page Load Progress

Firefox desktop & Android · experimental

Version 3.2.0

Follow page loading with a discreet progress bar at the top of the page.

The bar follows the page's real loading stages, from the server answering to the page being finished, and shows detailed loading statistics when you want them.

New in 3.2.0: optional tab indicators. Background tabs get a green dot when they finish loading, or a red triangle when the page returns an error, and progress can also appear in the tab title.

2FA Local

Firefox desktop & Android · experimental

Version 0.4.1

Generate time-based login codes right in Firefox.

A TOTP authenticator that keeps its stored data encrypted locally, protected by your password or PIN. Accounts can be added by hand or imported from otpauth:// links.

Keep a separate backup of your authentication secrets; the extension should not be your only copy.

Themes

Firefox desktop 128 or later. Each switches to dark automatically.

Install & switch themes

  1. Open a theme’s Install link in Firefox desktop 128 or later.
  2. Choose Add to Firefox on its Firefox Add-ons page and confirm.
  3. Manage your theme in Add-ons and themes → Themes. Its light or dark variant follows your system automatically.

The Website colors selector at the bottom of each page changes this website’s palette. To change Firefox itself, install a browser theme from the gallery.

About the themes

All five themes use original header and icon artwork. They contain no scripts, permissions, tracking, or remote assets. Firefox keeps its native fonts, controls, and layout; the sample page content and bookmarks in the previews are illustrative.

These are independent tributes. No official desktop wallpaper or logo is bundled. Ubuntu, Kubuntu, GNOME, and Windows names belong to their respective owners.
